Here's a gun I bought at a gun show for $200. I only bought it because it had lots of uninterrupted space for engraving. You can see in my intake photos, that it had a name scrawled on it with a vibe pen. Anyway, I got it straightened out and I've been picking at it for a looooong time. Should be nice someday.

I grinned when you said you keep "picking" at it! Quite literally, eh? Looking closely at the sideplate, the lighting and depth are impressive. I like how you incorporated shadows giving the engraving a 3D quality. Nice!
 
That is a beautiful 32-20! Outstanding work. I've been following your work for a while. Hopefully, I will have my project ready for your artistry before too long.

Tex Bennet was a Texas sheriff that shot 3 bank robbers with that gun, and you took his name off it?

That is some seriously lovely work. Do you cut with an electric graver or hammer and chisel?

Thanks a lot. Yes, picking, but also slicing. They all go together.

I did a quick check before I filed it off, I assume it was just a bored old man (who can say). I think the only style that won't be used on this gun is Hammer and chisel. There will be a lot of pneumatic and hand pushing, and a tiny bit of dot bulino.
Ii don't remember what kind of bird that is. I'm sure I chose it for the pose, and because the photo belonged to a friend of mine. That panel is kind of an Easter egg...ie. you wouldn't expect it to be there.
 
That treatment on the front of the frame and crane is just spectacular. I don't believe I've ever seen better. Love your signature there.

I vote for Black Cap Chickadee also. We have a bunch of both at our feeders.
