Thanks to those that gave me some input. I have a starting base as my manuals show nothing.

My starting load is 3.0g of Bullseye-you can work your way up from there depending on how fast you want to shoot it meaning you need a Chrony.

I wouldn't use anything as fast as Bullseye with 147s' myself. I'd be more inclined to use Unique, Universal Clays or slower powders.

Exactly! Well said. I have a load for a 147gr JFP using a maximum load of AA#7. Gives me 1000fps from a Sig P226. I like having a magazine or three full of these loads on me when I go to certain areas of town after dark. ;)

Montana Golds 147gr.CMJ & W231

M.G.147CMJ grain over 4.0gr. & W231 C.O.A.L. 1.11+/-"

I run the MG 147CMJ over 4.0gr of W231. I have chronoed it with a M&P Pro and they have average around 950fps.+/-

Noticed it is your first post Hudson shooter, welcome to the forum.

Since your books are too old, here is some data from a few recent books. Maybe your books are not that old after all since most of mine don't list bullseye except Lyman.

Lyman..... Min 3.4...max 3.9 bullseye, OAL is 1.115
Speer book...bullseye not tested
Hornady book...bullseye not tested
Nosler book...bullseye not tested

I use WSF with 147gr but frankly 147gr don't group so well at 50 yds for ppc work. Switched to 125 gr bullets still with WSF, and get better groups at 50 yds in a ransom rest.

Same as lmcgust; I shot 147's over Clays and the accuracy just wasn't there. Now shooting 124's over WSF and the accuracy is excellent.

WSF behind 147 FMJ

I use 4.2g WSF behind Montana Gold 147 FMJ, but want to try the 125g Hornady HAP to see if accuracy is better at 50 yds. What WSF load do you use with 125? Any suggestions are welcome. I am open to other powders with better accuracy if anyone has a load, I also shoot 5" PPC9.
