Default How to make 7.62x39 blanks?

I have just become aware of a contraption that allows golf balls to be launched utilizing the grenade launcher provisions of my Yugo SKS. But I need blanks. Is there any way to handload them? Or is it not worth the trouble and should I just buy them?

You can probably find the crimp die you'd need from CH tool and die, but the powder would be a different story. Blank powder usually isn't available to the handloading public and I doubt you'd want to use blackpowder in it.

I'm sure there is a way around it, but that's all I'm saying for now.

Well, how much aggravation is the factory loaded stuff? Is it corrosive?

I have a bunch of golf balls and all I know is I'm not going golfing with them.

I can't help you there Dave, I don't shoot much factory ammo out of my 7.62X39s, and when I do it's for the brass and it's made in the USA.

SKSs aren't that hard to clean but for the number of them I've seen with corroded gas systems it's pretty sad.

Was like me making my own 38 special snake or rat shot. I bought the Speer capsules and filled them. Real PITA, Easier to just spend 10 dollars to buy a box.
