Guys, this is what I personally made and took to the range. No Chrony but worked perfectly out of my Springfield Mod2 3" barrel and my 9mm Shield. No FTF, no FTE

POWDER: BE-86 = 5.5gr
BERRRY'S 115GR RN = 1.131 OAL (recoil about the same as Critical Defense- Light)

BAYOU 115GR RN = 1.146 OAL (Recoil was slightly more than Critical Defense but pleasant.)

No signs of overpressure, primers were not flattened.

My go to load for those bullets is 5.4g for a nice soft load, and 5.9g for some pop. OAL of 1.10 The 5.9 chronyd at 1150 if I can remember from my notes.

Pretty close to my BE-86 loads as well. I run just a hair longer OAL.

I vary powder weight between 5.4gr and up to 5.7gr. Right around 5.5-5.6 is most accurate out of my guns.

Great powder.

So what type of 9mm are you guys using with the OAL at 1.10"?

Are you getting good or better accuracy and groups with that short OAL ?

My 115gr plated at 1.10" are nothing to write home about with six powders.

What bullet you using? 5.7g of BE86 had a lot of felt recoil, way more than Critical Defense and Critical Defense is 1140fps so it is hard for me to believe 5.9g was only 1150. I got my OAL from using Hornady's load data for FMJ copper jacketed and then just added the OAL to be longer so it would seat the same. I did not want to Seat the Berry's same depth as Bayou because Bayou is a longer bullet.

Xtreme or Powerbond 115g plated. Out of a M&PFS and VP9. 5.4 and 5.9 are about the same accuracy wise. What OAL you running? Once I got that load dialed I never really messed with OAL.

I double checked my chrony data. a 115g Powerbond with 5.9g at 1.10 OAL ran 1185fps avg. from my M&P. My high was 1250 out of a string of 20. It definitely is a boomer load but Alliant lists 6.1 as the MAX. I regularly will shoot 5.4g which is a pleasant load IMO.

BE-86 really wakes up a 40s&w round I can tell u that.

In my C9 3.5" the Berry 115 RN at 1.10"..........rest at 12 feet

Red Dot.. 997fps @ 2.25"
Green Dot 1012 @ 2.91"
CFE pistol 1172 @ 1.79"
HS-6 ....... 1216 @ 1.20" ... best

Same bullet, case, primer........OAL 1.14"

Red Dot ...984fps @ .53"
Green Dot 998fps @ 1.16"
CFE pistol .. 1040 @ .98"
HS-6 ..,,..... 1020 @ .89"
However I have noticed that this pistol does like the heavier bullets better.

I am loading MBC coated 124 gr, CN bullets right now. But I am not going to tell you anything as I have not received my Starbucks Gift Card Yet!:p
