.30 Luger.7.65 Parra
I'm finding very little load data for bullets actually designated for the .30 Luger. I have a High Power/Benelli M-80 & a 1920 commercial luger all chambered in .30 Luger. Trying to reload this cartridge has it's challenges with the correct or appropriate bullet/projectile.. Any recommendations would be grateful.

I used to cast the Lyman 313226 93 gr RN and used Lyman data for Red Dot, Bullseye, and Unique:
Red Dot 3.7 to 4.2 gr
Bullseye 3.6 to 4.4 gr
Unique 4.5 to 5.1 gr

Can you buy these Lyman 313226 bullets sized & lubed or do or I have to cast my own. Gotta love the responses of known reloading data, it's the bullet/projectile that is the problem!!

I'd like to challenge anyone to find a 93 Gr bullet Jacket or Lead to duplicate the .30 Luger loading.. Yep Rule3, the data is out there, now find the bullet!

Challenge accepted! Cataloged by Ideal (and later Lyman) from 1904 until 1957, and weighing in at a listed 89 grains, it's known as No.308244. Although not commonly encountered, they ARE out there... This one has worked for me, sized to 0.311, in a 7.65mm Luger 1920 Commercial and a 7.63mm Mauser C-96.

When I used to reload 30 cal Luger I used the Hornady 100 gr 30 cal half jacket. I think this bullet was designed for the 30 Carbine. I found it to be absolutely deadly on armadillos.

Your FIRST post asked for load data?
With "requests" like those,
How about you search and find the darn bullet?

I've been working to find a working load for the 30 Luger. I use an 87 grain lyman cast bullet. I've worked up to the max load from several reasonable powders with no success. Recently, I notice an article in an old Reloaders Digest that stated that the 30 Luger spring needed to be lighter than the 9mm (less recoil from the lighter bullet). I have finally gotten the new spring installed. Hope it works.
