I stopped by my favorite LGS to pick up my "new' Mod 36 today and saw they actually had primers (CCI) on the shelf. I asked about pricing. The clerk said $100-150 depending on size. He seemed embarrassed. I did not buy any.

I would have thought less of the clerk if he hadn't been at least a little embarrassed! I still think more sane prices will come eventually.

If I wanted to pay that, I could get them on GB or an estate auction. Chaps my southern end.

Lots of primers in my area to be had but at $105/1K. Yeah it is what it is as the shop said the Hazmat fee had to be added to the price or they lose too much money but so far no one has bought them yet. Another shop has a limit of 300 and prices are averaging $13+ per 100 depending on which primers. Not gonna get chaffed on that but sooner or later I'm gonna run out of large pistol primers to fuel my 44 magnum fetish and pick up some.

Most recently I paid $75/ thousand for RWS percussion caps and the same for 1000 Cheddite #209 shotgun primers. This was within the last year and was a “friends and family price”. I’m now to the point where I can shoot (at my current rate, at least) until I’m about 80-85, and I’ll probably slow down a bit by then. Maybe some sanity will return to pricing and I can restock at a price I can afford and go on to 90!

The last time I saw LRMP for sale was Nov 2021. By the time I grabbed my credit card, they were gone from the page!

I have been checking every morning and afternoon since. They’re the only ones I need, and the only ones unavailable

I was lucky enough to get 1,000 just before the crunch. The are CCI and I still have them because I no longer load anything that needs them. I used to use them for my Black Powder 45-70 ammo shot in a Trapdoor. Now I just use AA5744.

I hate it that my brother reloaders can't find what we need to load our ammo. It's just not right and I'm sure many of the conspiracy theories have some shred of truth. Just wrong!

I had a surplus of CCI small rifle primers; so traded off 5 sleeves for 5 sleeves of CCI small pistol primers with a buddy who had a surplus of CCI small pistol primers. Both of us are happy.

when I see 9mm 1k at $240 (brass cases too), I know they aren't paying 10 cents each per primer. They just aren't being sent through the reloading channels. Going straight to the ammo manufacturers production.

Target Sports has (or did recently) CCI 300 large pistol for $85 per thousand with free shipping. With haz. fee and tax, under $500 per carton of 5,000. Not a steal but better than many other places.
