Default Primo reloading

Is anyone familiar with them or has anyone done business with them before? I've been trying to buy some gunpowder from them. The price seems reasonable even with shipping. However after that transaction was completed there were several other add on charges. Those included ATF, insurance, they say there is another charge as well. It seems like every time I pay for one charge they ask for something else. Having never purchased gunpowder online, I was just wondering if this is standard practice. They do say that most of these fees will be refunded. Sounds fishy.

Why not stay with established reputable businesses rather than an outfit that appears to be shady? Not worth it to save a few dollars, especially when you risk losing those few dollars and likely many more. "Sounds fishy" generally means it is fishy. Very few of these unheard of businesses are worth wasting the time to check out.

To rockquarry’s point, I’d stay with the established retailers. But I hope things work out for you OP.

The prices at Bass Pro don’t seem so bad in the end…especially when you can walk out with it.

I'd file a fraud claim with your credit card company right away. Then stick with Midway, Powdervalley, Graf's, Midsouth shooters supply, Sportsman's Warehouse, Cabella's, etc., etc. When you order powder from these places, at checkout it will show price, hazmat fee and shipping charges. One time charge. No add ons later.

If it smells fishy, that is because it is. Best avoided if it feels even slightly like a scam. I have a friend who got screwed out of $400 in a scam deal for a phony suppressor. And he is a fairly astute and gun-savvy lawyer.

A simple Google search shows scam, scam, scam. How did you pay? sounds like they don't take CCs. Please tell us you did not use PayPal.

It's beyond fishy. They are trying to stall for time so they can steal as much as possible before the CC companies cut them off.

Not even close to standard practice ...
Powder Valley Home | Powder Valley
Legit and upfront online site ... they will cost you much less in the long run . They carry reloading supplies and loaded ammo .
Was very pleased with price on 38 special brass and very fast service .
Placed order late Sunday night ... had brass in my hand lunch time Wednesday ... WOW !
I would not hesitate to order from them again ... I stocked high, wide and deep with powder and primers ... or I would order from them .
Sorry about the Scammer... If I ran the world they would be drawn and quarted !

I've purchased from just about every reputable source over many years, but have found Powder Valley to be the single best for components. They're frequently out of stuff thse days, just like everyone else, but prices overall are hard to beat. They seldom foul up an order and ship promptly.

I won't condemn other sources, and I'll sometimes use them when Powder Valley is out of something I'm looking for, but for a variety of reasons, the others fall a little short of Powder Valley, in my experience.
