I’ve been buying my cast bullets from Oregon Trail and Penn. I’ve been very happy with their products, but I’ve also read with interest some of the discussions regarding bullet obturation and how a softer bullet may be more appropriate in some cases. Recently I tried Missouri Bullets for the first time. Their catch phrase is “Hardness Optimized” and Brinell hardness numbers range from 10 or 12 up to 18. Here’s a recap of my recent experiences. I placed my first order via their web site and they shipped the next day and arrived in another day or two. I ordered a bunch of 45 ACP “softball” 230 grain round-nose bullets along with some .38 wadcutters. I went through a bunch of the 45 bullets and although I didn’t do a formal accuracy test, they shot very well and showed no (or minimal) leading. As an aside, the 230 grain bullet shot to point of aim in my fixed-sight 1911 Colt with a mid-range W231 load. A couple of days ago I went back on the web and placed a second order, paying with a credit card. Afterwards, I sent them an e-mail saying that I saw that they have 100 bullet “trial packs” and I would have liked to have ordered one but couldn’t figure out how to do so on their web site. I asked if they could possibly add one and bump up the credit card amount to cover the cost. I got a reply back the next day saying that, no, they couldn’t adjust the credit card amount I had authorized, but they had received my e-mail before the order shipped, and had included the trial pack. “We can figure out the payment later, the important thing was to get your bullets out to you” was a part of their response. I thought that was pretty heads-up. So a good product, fast shipping, very good prices, bulk-rate shipping without additional handling charges, and an extra measure of customer care. A very good experience overall and I’ll order from them again.

Several stores around here were stocking Midstaes cast bullets but when the owner died production got stalled for weeks. Most of the dealers have started stocking MBC instead even though it appears that Midstates may be off the dime now.

I don't know how to say this strongly enough, but here goes: Missouri Bullet Co is one of the best companies I have dealt with in a VERY long time. I contacted Brad asking him to consider casting some .410 bullets. I received an e-mail from him directly stating that several folks had asked, and I was the one that tipped the scales. About a week later I had a box of 500 .410 SWC delivered to my door...free of charge! All Brad asked in return was that I give him feedback on the new bullet.

Missouri Bullet Company will see ALL of my business from now on!

P.S. They a 1/3rd or more cheaper than Last Cast.

I, too, have had very good luck with Missouri Bullets and would definitely recommend them. I have used their 9mm, .357, and .45ACP bullets.

I had a similar situation where I wanted to add to an order already placed. I called and spoke to a gentlemen about adding another box to my order and he said, no problem, I'm packing your order right now. Gave him the CC number again and my order was on its way. He said they shred your CC info as soon as the order is placed. I like that.

Take care,
Dave

I only order from Missouri Bullet Co., great prices too! Recently, I had to order more .38 spec. 158gr SWC's, my Dillon told me so.

Brad,

I cast my own, but it's great to see the good service you're providing and the pleased customers. Thanks for the acknowledgment and participation!

We just do the best we can and try to give that little extra to make us stand out in the crowd, 'cause there are lots of cast bullet companies out there!

Brad

I just went to your web site and I do have one question. Could yo tell me what is so special about bullet #452180CB? Your listed price of $275.50 per 500 bullets seems just a tad steep even in these days of escalating prices. Are they silver for werewolves?

A reasonable question!

I modified the price on that bullet late one evening after sizing/lubricating 10,000 of them for a customer. The idea was to make it so ridiculously expensive that nobody would even bother to think about ordering it. The original verbiage which I put on the website which accompanied the price of $275.50 was "If this bullet seems a little pricey, then you've never tried feeding these squat little bastards through a collator." The problem is that the bullet is nearly as wide as it is tall, so that they wind up sideways in the collator slots. This requires manual intervention, nerves of steel, plus an ample tolerance for blinding frustration. So, after spending an entire *day* sheparding 10,000 of them through my M-A Systems collator - rather than just spending the 3 hours it would have taken with normally proportioned bullets, I was in no mood to ever, ever want to repeat that experience.

Hence, the new and improved price :-)

Hi Folks,
I thought I would give Missouri bullets a try.
here is what I found.
Good product, fast shipping, low prices and nice people!
Thanks Brad
Mike

I can ditto all the above experiences. I had ordered some 9mm and some 357. The 9mm shot very well but the 357 shot badly as the base of the bullets were a mess. I email Brad offering to send samples. He returned with an explanation of what happened to the casting machine and taking my word for it, is sending out another 500.

Any mfg company can experience a problem but you can't beat this service with a stick. Thanks Brad.

I checked out the website for MBC, based upon a reference in this forum. the prices are terrific, but the most intriguing aspect of their product is the discussion about optimal hardness for various purposes, e.g. bullseye versus IPSC velocities. I didnt know that.

My experience mirrors that of others here, Missouri Bullet Co. is excellent! A pleasure to do business with. Have 1,000 each 230 gr. .45 and 9MM softball and smallball, cool names to.

I ordered some bullets off their website on the Sunday before Christmas, hoping to get them by the New Year. They were delivered Christmas eve.

I had an order in with MSB that was in for a little while so I sent an email asking about it. Brad responded on a Saturday and said he was working on my order and it would go out on Monday. I received the order that Wednesday and the bullets are great as usual. I appreciated the personal response and the great service. I hope Brad is prospering during this time when all reloading component companies are extra busy.
