I have a Dillon Square Deal outfit and the low primer alarm is cracked and not working.
I have the opportunity to buy a new one “sight unseen” from a bloke who reckons the one he has will fit the 550 and 650 models.
Can anyone here tell me if the low primer alarms for the SDB, 550 & 650 are all the same?
As always, thanks for any help.

Yes, the low primer alarm is the same for all machines. However, as the prior poster points out, Dillon will be happy to replace yours for free.

Dillon replaced mine for free. Great customer service!!!!!!!!

My low primer warning has been ringing since November.......

Dillon will replace yours BTW

Yep, call Dillon. They don't care how old the machine is or how many previous owners it may have had....IT'S COVERED!

Yes sir, Dillon replaced mine. The battery leaked and did in the device. Called, had it 3 days later--free and an apology from Dillon that I was not able to have it for three days. Great products---even greater service.!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! He's not going to have a part from Dillon in a week... He's about as far from Arizona as a man can get.:)

The alarm that I have was broken when I bought it from the previous owner, so I don’t reckon I would be brave enough to ask Dillon for a replacement.
Dillon want $27.50 for a small shipment to Australia which is a bit over the top; the easiest option is to just buy the one that’s available to me here.
Thanks for the replies.

You needn't be brave in asking for a replacement. Dillon does not care how old the machine is, or whether you are the original owner. Their warranty is indeed, "No BS". Period. You can email them describing your problem, and they WILL send you a new part, promptly and without question.

You snooze, you lose!

I'll tell you what I will do for you. I call Dillon and tell them I have one that is broken and they will send me the one they should have sent you! You keep yours and I'll have a brand new one for one of my older machines!
(Just kidding! ;) )

There are some things they won't send to you, the frame being one of them. I know, I bought a used machine and noticed a difference in OAL from when I had one round in and when I had a full shell plate. It kept getting longer too. I investigated and found one of the ears on the frame was cracked and asked for a replacement. They said they wouldn't send that part out but they would repair it none the less. All I had to do was send it to them. I did and they sent it back in a week or so in a new box with a new frame. It works great and is currently in that box waiting to be shipped to our oldest son as his first press!

Don't be afraid to call Dillon, their service is top notch. In fact tell them you bought it used and see what they say. I told them that I had done that (I wanted to get the history of the press but couldn't) and they basically asked what my customer number was and we went from there, just like I was the original owner!
