Oldest Stamped Logo?
The SWCA Members Forum recently had a thread about the oldest stamped logo on a Smith & Wesson. Roy thought that the stamping of the logo began with the .32 Hand Ejector in 1896, a practice which then carried over to other models. This might be a good opportunity for all you top-break owners to check your guns for a stamped logo. The earlier thread listed three early guns: Single Shot from 11/1898, my 38DA from 7/1897 (pictured), and a New Model #3 from 10/96. Can you add any more from the late 1800s? Any that predate the .32 hand Ejectors?
