38 Top Break Perfected Holsters?
Will it fit the USGI 1960s black military duty leather holsters?

The 38 Perfected revolver is basically a small frame gun. It is built on a Model 1903 I frame with varying barrel lengths. I assume you are looking at a M1911 holster, but what I am not sure of is if the cylinder will fit in a holster designed for a flat side semi-auto. If you have the holster, try any 32 HE and if it fits, the Perfected will fit as well. I have the 38 Perfecteds, but no military holsters to try.

No, no....the military used S&W 38 revolvers but I can't remember what models they used. I qualed with one in basic training for AF ROTC.

Ahh - I thought that the holster for the 38 Victory would be WWII era, not 1960s? Anyway, the Victory was a K frame revolver, which would most likely be too large for the Perfected.
I just noticed that you referred to the Air Force. There were other S&W revolvers used in the 1960s, but most were K frames like the Combat Masterpiece. The 38 Baby Aicrewman was a J frame and a similar size as the I frame revolver, so those holsters might work for a short barrel Perfected.

So a K frame with same barrel length (4" I think) holster wouldn't work?

It would be loose in the holster, since the frame is smaller on the 38 Perfected..Here is the best way to compare a Perfected to a K38 Masterpiece.

Oh wow! I see! I see!
So I need to find a modern J frame holster with that fits a 4" barrel?
Trying to figure out a modern cross reference so I can track down a nice thumb break carry holster in leather.

Most J frame holsters should work for the 38 Perfected. Take your gun go a large gun shop or sporting goods store and try out some holsters.

The main problem with that is that there really weren't a lot of four inch J frame guns, so holsters made specifically for them aren't all that easy to find either.
I'm sorta in the same boat as you in that I'm trying to find a holster that will accommodate my .38 Safety Hammerless.

Yup! The holster it came with is an old double loop backwards flap type. I can repair it but it doesn't have a good retention strap. It's cool though.

Recommendation: Chose a good custom holster maker and have a properly fitted holster made to fit your revolver and your carry preferences.

The .38 Perfected is actually built on the same frame as the .32 Hand Ejector, the I frame, so any I or J frame with the correct length barrel should work. That would include .32 Hand Ejector , both .32 and .38 Regulation Police and .22 Kit guns. I have had no problem finding used or new holsters for my 4" I and J frame guns even in the left hand version that I require. I would look around bit before I went to hte expense of a custom holster.

Here are the Model numbers that would fit your revolver. 30, 31, 34, 35, and 43. Problem is that some of these revolvers are only available in a snub-nosed barrel length and you will need to find a holster that will accept a 4" barrel.

So, if my research is correct, I can fit my Perfected into:
02 64
21 64
22 64
