Hi,

My local shop just got in a pre-Model 34, Serial No. 225** (serial # on the butt and cylinder and other almost illegible #'s on the yoke and crane). Blue with a 2" barrel and diamond round butt stocks. Unfortunately, I forgot to count the # of screws. It's got some finish issues and needs a good cleaning, but the bore and mechanicals seem fine.

Can anyone tell me the approximate manufacture date? I can't seem to be able to figure this one out using the S&W guide.

I'm kind of interested in it and would like to have an older Model 34 9or pre-34) to add to my two 1980's vintage 4" square butt guns.

Looks like about 1956 (start 1955 with 11000, end 1958 with 52672).
