Thanks again. A few observations:
1. The "Call Brilliant" front sight means the bead is stainless steel, rather than brass.
2. Most had a SA trigger pull of 3 1/2 lbs.
3. Although not unheard of, the choice of ammunition (.38 mid-range wad cutter) for sighting in is unusual and would indicate target usage. The 20 yard distance and dead center hold is a bit odd too, for the times, and target shooters generally preferred square notch rear sights.
All in all it is a wonderful package and I would definitely encourage you to get a letter from Roy Jinks and do a document search through the S&W Historical Foundation.
I think the value could be well into 5 figures.
Regards,
Kevin Williams

What do you think?

I think that it is spectacular!!!! What a beautiful RM package. One of the nicest packages that I have seen in a while. And the BOX - I have one RM box that is almost in that condition, but I think that is the nicest one that I have seen. Great Acquisition!!!!
Congrats and thanks for sharing,

Here is a copy of the letter. Not to be picky, but the letter says it was sighted in at 25 yards and the certificate says 20 yards. When the guns are researched is the information gathered from a log of some sort? Just curious.

Congrats! That is one fine RM and with that you own a little bit of rich S&W history. It never gets old to see pics of those fine S&W of old.
Thanks RB
