According to an article by John W. Zlatich in "The American Rifleman" February 1953 issue Hermann Goering once owned a matched pair of .44 Special S&W revolvers:
"Germany's Hermann Goering once had a matched pair of .44 Special Smith & Wesson revolvers which he fired a great deal and counted among his most prized possession."
Is this verified anywhere else? I've never heard about it before.
By the way: it is told that Hermann Goering's S&W M&P revolver was purchased by him in Hamburg in 1934. Has the gun ever been lettered?
I'd like to know, if the gun was directly ordered especially for the Reichsjägermeister from S&W in Springfield or if it was a co-incidence that Fatso Goering took this one instead of a German made gun.
