Resistance was futile.

A member showed me this gun on Saturday at the Michigan Antique Arms Show. That evening, I told my wife I was probably going to pass on it. She just rolled her eyes!

I think she knows me better than I do!

We only fool ourselves. Our wives figured this out a long time ago. Congratulations on a beautiful find.

Thats something you don't see often!
Nice revolver, but whats the Black Jack for??? :)
That's how I negotiated the price down!
Just kidding... :p
It seemed to fit the theme of the photo. I'm sure more than one LEO in the early 50's hit the streets with a .357 and a sap.

Chad--

Very nice find. What kind of holster? Is it a Berns-Martin break-front?
Thanks!
Yes, it's a Berns-Martin Speed holster that I picked up a few years ago at the same antique arms show. Here's a link to a thread about it: http://smith-wessonforum.com/lounge/138476-another-berns-martin-speed-holster.html

Chad, I always enjoy your posts and your eye for quality. Truly a very neat addition to your collection, thanks for sharing with the rest of us. All my very best, Joe.

And you're a moderator? Seriously? I would have thought you would have given up the fiction of "I'm going to pass on it" years ago. :)

Seriously, congratulations on a nice find.

As to the sap, you are correct, many officers used to go to work with saps. Many still do! :)

I really was... REALLY! I've got four gun club swap meets coming up this month and we're leaving for Wyoming to shoot antelope and prairie dogs on the 28th. I'm trying to watch the money.

When the seller lowered the price and threatened to put the gun out on his table for sale, I couldn't take it... I'm weak! :D
