I am new to S&W revolvers. I have a 1941 M&P that I would like to put a lanyard swivel on. Right now there is just the hole. I took the grips off, and the pin is present. Am I just taking out the pin, inserting the lanyard, and resetting the pin, or is there another step? Does the pin get pushed in by hand, or with a brass punch? Thank you very much for your help.

I have installed them before, just use a small punch and tap out the pin and insert the lanyard and replace the pin. should not be tohard to get the pin out.

You are fortunate that the pin remains in place. They are often missing. A simple job to replace the swivel.
