The 'unofficial' 58 Club

One M58 for me (and one 57 and one Ruger 3-screw BH). Born about 1969. At one point I also had a snubbie PC 657 and a Magna-ported 4" 57.

Welcome

Rob,

Thanks for sharing. I got lucky a few years back and laid my hands on a 3" 657....it is one of my favorite N frames, second only to the 58's right now ;)

Damn, I'm jealous of you guys that have 6 or more 58s, I feel unworthy since there's only 2 in my stable. My first 58 is NIB and will stay that way. My second 58 is a gently used gun that has "SFPD" stamped on the gun. BTW, #2 is a real shooter with a 210 gr lead bullet and medium charge of Unique.

You guys really are killing me...I'm a .41 Magnum S&W junkie w/o a 58. Thanks a lot!

Found a 58, S serial number for $650

I am a 41 mag fan. Have 2 57s, a 4 inch and a 6 inch. Been looking for a 3 inch (stainless or blued), but the ones I've found must be made of gold (their owners or dealers think so). Was online checking on some guns I have for sale and came across someone selling a 58 for $650 who lives about 100 miles away. The pictures he has on his add make the gun look like it has been rode hard and put up wet, but it appears to be bad pictures more than the gun. I have asked for more pictures, but if they don't get any better I may still take a chance and go for a ride to at least look at it. We shall see.

great pair

That's quite a pair you have there....having grown up (well, mostly) in San Antonio I have yet to see a SAPD marked 58 in my town....they seem to have lit out for the territories, as they are everywhere but here.

Thanks for sharing.

Sign me up!

One from SAPD, the shooter, and an older "S" serial #, the collector.

Good to see that warhorse Iggy....I like guns with happy endings (even if you did kill a perfectly innocent Bronco).

I will double....er, triple your money if you're interested :D

Mine is kinda homely compared to most shown here.
Obsidian.jpg

Paid $65.00 for it and a box of ammo back in 66.

We've been to the mountain and it got me home.

SAFireman,

You ain't got enough money to buy that one.:D
I mistakenly said I paid $65.00 for it. It was more expensive.
I gave $81.00 instead.:)

Iggy,

That was quite a bargain back then...I would guess that the comparable model 29 was about $120 or so...I would not dare to take your best bud away...I know that they are going to bury you with it...just let me know where :p

Take care.
