Your gun most likely shipped in 1951. By then, they were wearing diamond center magna K frame grips like these
For the first few post war years, the diamond magnas had a sharper shoulder, but I think by 1951 they had moved to the more rounded shoulder shown above. For reference, the sharp shoulders are shown below on this 1947 M&P.
