Hi All:

If this is in the wrong forum, I kindly ask for it to be moved to the correct one.

I just need some confirmation on the stainless counterpart of the Model 14. Is the 68 essentially the stainless version of the Model 14, being that they are both 6" K-frames with target sights?

Thanks in advance.

The Model 68 is the same as a Model 66 except it is chambered in .38 special, rather than .357 magnum. It was created for the California Highway Patrol and later also sold to the LAPD. The CHP was not allowed to carry the .357 magnum round. The CHP also issued the Model 67 .38 special with the 4" barrel at the same time.

Thanks!

Few clarifying questions (for all):

1) Did the Model 68 come with a barrel length other than 6"?

2) Is there no stainless counterpart to the Model 14?

3) Seems like the Model 68 comes with a shrouded ejector rod. Is this correct?

4) The Model 68 is essentially the 6" version of the Model 67, correct?

Sorry if these questions are getting quite annoying [emoji51] Just really want to add to my knowledge base (and know what to look for next [emoji2])

The Model 68 was only manufactured with a 6-inch barrel. There is no stainless steel counterpart to the Model 14. The Model 68 has an extractor rod shroud like the Model 66. The Model 68 is probably closer to being a 6-inch version of the Model 66, but is chambered in .38 Special rather than .357 Magnum. The Model 67 is the stainless steel version of the Model 15 or .38 Combat Masterpiece.
