I have a Model 58 .41 Magnum that's been in my safe for years. Any info/value on this revolver would be greatly appreciated. It also has a S in front of serial number.

That looks to be in very good to excellent condition. S prefix is an earlier model. Around here, something like that would go for 900-1,000, depending on the buyer.

If your grips are original you should find the serial number of your gun inside the right grip panel. That helps the value, too. Even better if you have the original box, paperwork and tools. The serial number suggests 1967-68 manufacture. Nice gun!

It may just be me, but this is the first model 58, first 41 magnum actually, I've seen that has recessed cylinders. Was this common?

I don't believe those stocks are original to the gun. The 58 was the N frame that sported rounded bottom magnas, similar to PC magnas of the K frame. Otherwise it is a beauty. I love a M-58.

M-58 stocks.

The gun belonged to my step-grandfather who was Sheriff of Butte MT. in the 1970's. It was his service revolver. Inside the frame(opened cylinder) reads MOD 58.

Wouldn't an S serial numbered 41 Mag have been one of the guns that could have been ordered with Cokes?

...that is a real good question. I have only seen one maybe two 58s that were in the box with proper markings for TH, TT and TS and they were 70s vintage guns. Not sure if you special ordered a 58 back in 1965 if it would come with Cokes like the 29/57 or a standard set of Targets like on a 25/27....

That would be a question best answered by the experts, but I believe only the 57 and 29 were shipped with "cokes". The 58, being the utilitarian brother, came with those PC type magna grips.

Superman's comment on TH TT TS is something I've not heard of but I don't doubt it.

Welcome to the forum. Nice family airloom. I shot my new m58 and fell in love again. I ordered the combat finger groove grips from the s&w store.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of, it would be an S-serial numbered model 57 that could be special ordered with the Cokes.

I had this "S" serial 58 lettered because of the unusual TH, TT, TS.
Roy said the gun was shipped with TT, TH, TS. I believe the gun is original with these "Cokes", aka TS.....or maybe not. Here's some info on another thread which I forgot about, lol.

Any chance you could re-post that with a link to the entire thread instead of to just the one post within the thread?
