I recently moved my collection from the original boxes to bore stores. Has anyone ever had rust or finish issues while using them?

Love my bore stores. Nice and padded. Have had a few stored in rear of safe I've not touched in almost four years. Took them out to check and clean. Spotless like the day I put them in. Dusted lightly with a light oil and back into the bore store.

Bore-Stores are the absolute best. Great rust protection and well-padded to prevent storage dings.

However, I predict every poster may have a different take on what is the best.

In a Midwestern home with central air/heat and no special control of humidity there have been no issues with up to 4 years of storage. I have placed the firearm in the Bore-Stores and then place the Bore-Stores containing the firearm inside a 1 or 2 gallon Zip Lock bag and squeezed the air out of the bag before sealing.

On the other hand I have had some stored inside an old sock and had no problems.

Looks like I made the right choice. The guns take up a lot less room when stacked on top of each other.

I've used Bore Store bags for a number of years, with great success. I do remove the guns from them every 6 - 9 months to inspect and wipe down with a silicon cloth. Every other inspection I give the inside of the bag a quick shot of spray silicon.

I've been using them for years. Never had any kind of problem and highly recommend them.

I love them also, I use them with my smiths and I use the other non silicon rugs for the other brands that live in the safe.

another vote for bore stores.

I have 40-50 of them, that should say something.

Bought a short one designed for a carbine. A Crossman pellet rifle
resides within in an outside laundry room in So. Fla. No issues.
The loading port did snag when I removed the rifle dumping BB's.
Still finding them with my bare feet.

I do the same as Old Bear and have never had a problem. I'll turn the Bore Store inside out and spray it with CRC Heavy Duty Silicone. The CRC spray doesn't have any oil in it, others do, and it's avaiable at the local Ace Hardware.

The Bore Store brand material is thicker than other brands. I think they protect against bumps and scratches better. The down side to this is they're thicker and take up more space in the safe.

I need to find more of the Bore Store socks for 2" K-frames.
