Hi, I picked up these grips at a gun show yesterday for $20 bucks not knowing what they went to, they were taped together. Ended up buying a nice model 10-5 snub nose before leaving the show for $500. The grips with the medallions are serialized to the gun. The new grips really help with giving me a better hold of the gun. I just need help with finding out who made the grips if possible. Thanks.

Great deal on both the revolver and the grips! Congrats!

Don’t misplace the original grips numbered to the Model 10!

I would do the same thing myself. Don't think I have 1 gun wearing magnas. Nice 10 you have there! Mine shoots well but not as nice as yours, and R.B. Bob

Now I have another question, I reached out to Smith & Wesson to get the date of manufacture of my model 10. They stated it was made in 1966/67. The book states the model 10-5 was made in 1962. Did Smith make multiple models of the same gun while building different variations in the same year? The book shows the 10-4,10-5,10-6 all being made in 1962.

1962 was the year of introduction of each of those variants of the Model 10.

The 10-4 was dropped in favor of the 10-5, with the wider front sight. The 10-6 was made concurrently with the 10-5; the difference being the barrel profile (tapered on the -5 and heavy on the -6). The 10-5 and 10-6 were both made from 1962 until 1977.
