I got this for my husband's birthday, he loves it! It's a model 34-1 2" barrel in the box with the paperwork and tools. It's supposedly unfired and it looks it. There is a faint turn ring and there are no marks on the recoil shield, the tools are still in their sealed package. Serial #number is 132xxx no letter prefix he's guessing it's from the mid 60s he is very happy!

Probably 1967-68.

I'm sure he does. Probably loves you, too.

I bought one very much like that one for my wife for Christmas a few years ago. But it was a defensive move. She had been shooting mine and was starting to claim it for herself. Now she has one of her own . . .

Great buy and great revolver. At 18 in 1965 I bought the exact gun for a backup 'snake gun' when my dad and I went upland bird hunting. Never saw or shot a snake but had a lot of fun with it for 40+ years. Another one I regret selling. He'll love it.

That’s a beautiful package! And an excellent gift. I wouldn’t even mind another birthday for a gift like that!

That’s a keeper and so are you!! Welcome to the forum.

Nice B’Day present. I have a 34-1 from 1978. They are among the best that S&W made in that era.

Never got a gun for a birthday present, but I did get brand a new Ruger 10/22 and a .22 Combat Masterpiece as Christmas presents.
