Besides the obvious benefit of having the laser light, can anyone share opinions on the feel and concealabilty factor when comparing the Hogue Monogrip and the LG-305? I have a 642 and like the comfort of the Hogue. I would like to have a CT grip and the LG-305 looks to be similar in size.
Who has tried both on a J-frame, and how would you compare the two? Benefits/drawbacks/compromises??
Thanks for your opinions.

Thanks, but I don't think the 405 is for me. I would rather compare the 305 to the Hogue Monogrip.

I have the LG305 grips on my 637, the visible hammer version of your 642. I purchased the revolver with them eight years ago, when they were the only CT laser grips available. I believe I have the best of the Crimson Trace lot for Airweights, because they provide room for my pinky. The LG205 and LG405 grips do not. My handgun fits nicely in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster in my slacks pocket (if you wear skin-tights, I dunno).

Sorry, don't know about Hogue Monogrips.

Cordially, Jack

In my opinion you will like the 305 if you like the Hogues, and you will not like the 405. They are way too small, even smaller than they need to be. While small helps in pocket carry, I cannot figure out why they made the 405 so extremely thin at the bottom of the grip frame. That does not help concealability, and leaves you very little for your bottom two fingers to hold on to. I've owned dozens of J frames with many grip configurations, but nothing as small where it does not need to be as the 405. I believe the 405's are poorly designed by giving up certain mass that does not help hide the gun.

My daily pocket carry is a 642 with the #305 CT grips (the larger, longer ones). I have NO problems concealing the handgun in my pants pocket with a Mika pocket holster. Excellent combination.

I am 5'10" tall, weigh 230 and have rather large hands so the extended grips are NEEDED for me.

Thanks, fellas. I really appreciate all of the responses. Like Dale53 above, I also use a Mika pocket holster, so it sounds like a no-brainer for me.
