I am a big holster snob and have always used Milt Sparks or Kramer holsters. I bought a 2" Smith Model 10 last year and have been carrying it in an Uncle Mike nylon IWB holster which wasn't worth a damn.

I wanted a Kramer for it but since it is a recession and and everything coughing up $120 for a holster wasn't looking good but I needed something. I heard about the JIT Slide on this board.

The other day I was at a gun store and they had a JIT for a K frame for $25 bucks. Even though it is a straight up and down holster which I really don't like, I went for it.

I have to say it is a great holster. For the money I don't see how it can be beat. The fact is has no cant is OK even though a little would have been nice.

I have seen a lot of inexpensive holsters and some expensive holsters that did not hold the butt of the gun tight to your body making concealment poor and creating an aggravating situation. The JIT holds the gun close to your body.

So don't be afraid to try a JIT slide. They are good.

Here are a couple pics

You can put any barrel length in the JIT since it is open on the bottom

My favorite "daily" holster. I have one for my J-frames and one for my K-frames. Trained with one for my 66-1 at Front Sight. Simple, straight forward, well made and inexpensive. What's wrong with that?

Another vote for the JIT holster. I carry a K frame and occasionally my Sig 239. Simple and functional.

Awesome holster, I have one for my PM9 and it feels like nothing is there, and conceals as good as any OWB holster out there, great buy!

I have two. This one is for my Sig P225's. I have a black one for my S&W #908.

Thanks neighbor....
I have seen them for bottom feeders, but never seen a real...er, wheelgun stuck in one of them before...

I've got a BOAT LOAD of Don Hume JIT holsters. In fact the M19 2-1/2" on my right side and the 4053 on my left are both in JIT's (Right hand can be worn as a cross draw on the left side). I've got them for M39 series (round trigger guard), M39 series (square trigger guard), 4053, 59 series, "K" frame and "J" frame. Been using them for years. The only thing I don't like about them is there is no retention strap. Other than that the JIT is my "GO TO" holster.

thanks for the pics.....handy little piece of leather, I agree.....
Are those Packy Jordan's on that smokewagon of yours???

I have several JIT holsters. The one I use most frequently is this one for my 640-1.

My only complaint is that I prefer brown holsters, and the JIT is very hard to come by in brown....

Two of the three I own are brown/burgundy. I prefer brown myself. In both cases I had to ask the holster vendor if he had them. They were under the table. Black seems to be all they display. You can of course order them direct from Don Hume. With shipping that makes them $36.75, which is more then I ever paid for mine. If you add the $7 I paid to get into the gun show it is probably a wash.

Hi:
I would caution using a weapon in a "Belt Slide" holster where the barrel or slide extends out the bottom of the holster.
In the past I used a issue belt slide for a issue 4" Model 64 while assigned to a CDI (plainclothes) unit. While on "Stakeout" sitting in the front right side vehicle seat on a cold day I kept squirping around due to the cold. I thought that I heard a noise and partly opened the vehicle door and my Model 64 fell from the space between the seat and door onto the curb.
Squirping around on the vehicle seat pushed the muzzle of the weapon up and out of the belt slide.
