Hello everyone.
I’ve been a member here for a while, but I this is my first post. I need some help

I’ve picked up a like new 3913NL and I’m wanting to upgrade sights to either fiber optic or night sights.

No one seems to carry these anymore, if they ever did. I’ve been told the 5906 will fit. I’ve also been told the M&P series have the same size/angle dovetail cuts, so those fit also. I thought I’d ask here before ordering.

Are there any that are compatible, or that can be made compatible with light fitting??

Thank you for your help

Trijicon and Novack night sights have been popular for 3900 Gen3s models. Do an internet search for: "S&W Model 3913NL night sights" to get more info.

3913NL and 5906 share the same dovetail cuts.

Dawson Precision makes a very nice fiber optic front sight. Take a factory Novak backsight, stripped out dots and open up the notch to a .156 "U" notch. Pair that with the Dawson f/o front and you have a very clean sight picture that is quite fast for aging eyes to pick up under stress.

You can also often find some old expires night sights either Novak or factory S&W on the auction sites. Those can be re-lamped @Trijicon for $19 per lamp and you get a fresh 12year warranty.

The factory Novak Low mount night sights are S&W p/n: 19104

The Trijicon version low mount set was discontinued years ago but sets still turn up now and again. SA24 it the part number.

SA08 is the Trijicon Non-Novak sight set that's currently available. You can also order a SA08F for front sight only.

Cheers

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate it.

It has plain Novak sights on it now, but it shoots about 4” low and I’d just like some fiber optic or night sights lol.

A friend has a set of dim trijicon sights off a CS40, would those fit? If so I’d have those redone. He said I could just have them…

Otherwise I’m leaning towards a shorter Dawson fiber optic front sight for now.

The CS40 front will fit and will likely raise your POI a bit. The CS40 rear sight... while it will physically fit your 3913, it won't work as it's waaaay too tall.

Are you holding six o'clock? Those duty guns were generally set up for POA = POI as in put the dot right where ya want the hole to go.
If you hold six o'clock, that might be why it's printing a bit low.

Thanks Bill, I’ll measure the front sight and if it’s shorter maybe try it. If not I’ll go the Dawson fiber route. I’d hate to spend the $$ for night sights and still be shooting low.

No I’m not holding 6o’clock, holding right on. I thought it was just me, so I’ve had 4 other people shoot it and everyone shoots it low. One guy a lot more than 4”, guessing he was holding at 6o’clock. I switched to 147gr and the 150gr Fed Syntech I’m hitting about 2” low.

I has potential to be quite accurate, it shoots nice tight groups, just low.

I have found that my 39xx guns shoot low with 115gr ammunition. If that's what you are using, try 124gr or 147gr and see if that helps. In my case 124gr results in acceptable accuracy and 147 is spot on.

As a group we've speculated why that is, but have no definitive answer.

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate it.

Can I sneak in on this? I'm pretty sure I know the answer but? I have a 3913 TSW. Would the above sights fit? Secondly, it came with the rail removed but no screws. Screw availability? Or should I leave well enough alone?

No screws. Those rails were affixed with flush mount solid aluminum rivets. The rail can be re-attached with properly sized rivets and a press or rivet squeezer. I recently had to tighten up a loose rail on a 5906TSW, used a aircraft hand rivet squeezing tool.

Your 3913TSW shares the same sight dovetail cut and uses the same sights as any other 3913 so, if you're referring to the part numbers I mentioned in post #5 then yes, those will fit your gun.

Cheers

I don't think this was answered, but no the M&P sights will not fit. I sure wished they would, I would love to install TFOs on my 3rd gens.

I did find some meprolight for my 3913 about 3 years ago on Opticsplanet
