Hi all, I'm having a heck of a time finding a holster for my 627 N frame.
I'm looking for a leather holster that is made for my gun however the ones I've found that I do like never have the 627 as an option.
What other S&W revolvers are similar enough that I could make another choice and have my gun fit? How bout the 686 is that an N frame? Will any N frame holster fit? What manufactureres do you recommend.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Evening Lester,

No the 686 is not an N-Frame. It is a L-Frame. You need a holster for a N-Frame 627. I got my 627 thumb break holster from OpticPlanet.com here on the Internet. It is one made by DeSantis. I am Left Handed & it took about 3 weeks to come in. Not too many lefties i guess. Here is a picture of that holster. Then i branched out & had DMBullard.com make me a holster. Bullard takes 16-20 weeks to deliver. Here is a picture of that one. There are a lot of real good holster/belt/ammo pouch makers here on the forum as well. You can take a look-see at my Picture/Album Folder at: S-W Forum - exfebee's Album: Pictures on The Wall and you will see holsters-Ammo pouches - Speed loaders - belts etc. Best of luck.

Hello
I also have the Desantis holster that is pictured above. Mine also came from Optics Planet. I really like it. So, I second that choice.:D

Thanks gents, that is exactly what I've been looking for. The Bullard is a georgious holster. Don't know if I can wait that long for my first holster. I want to start carrying it sometime this year! :-)

Just ordered the Desantis from Optics Planet. The holster didn't list the 627 but did list the 629 as one of the options it will fit. I'm pretty sure their identical in size???? I hope!!!!!

That should work just fine.

I know you said you ordered one already, here is another option. Take a look at the Galco, Dual Position Phoenix.

I just got one for my 627 Pro from Optics Planet. It is leather, has a thumb break, can be worn strongside or crossdraw which is nice for driving, or riding. It fits the gun perfectly. Also, there isn't the "lug" molded into the leather like some made for a std. barrel with a full or partial lug.

Strongside it rides tight to the body and crossdraw is positioned at a good angle and can still be covered up with a baggy shirt, or long shirt tail.

PHX126 is a Right Hand holster for a S&W 4" N Frame 327. That is the same dimension as the 627. They make them in many barrel lengths, but will be listed for the 327 N Frame

It's a little pricey, but it is nice.

You can change your O. P. order if you catch it in time if you wanted to.

Thanks for the recommandation Sevenshooter, I had taken a look at that holster as well. Very tempting but for the money I'm gonna stick with the DeSantis.

Lester,

Did you "order-on-line" or call Optics Planet ? Sometimes they show something in Stock when its not. They are a DeSantis Dealer and less money than ordering directly from DeSantis. I'm glad you are finding a holster.

In my experience with them, this is the case more often than not. I never order from them anymore without calling first.

Yes I did talk to a rep and they are out of stock. The rep indicated it would be about 10 days to resupply then will ship it as soon as they get it. I should have it in about 2 weeks.
