BK Grip Adapters

It's back up as of 0952 central time. Not sure what the problem was earlier.

When I checked with the web host to fix yesterday's problem, they said it was something at the server level that had to be reset. Yesterday was the first failure of the site that I recall, although from legal work with another web host I do know that intermittent outages are not unheard of. So I'll let 'em know of this latest failure, too.

Got my order in for a J frame model that I plan to install on a Rossi snub nosed revolver. I will find if it fits, I think it should.

fits pretty good, Not a smith but my dad carried it as a PI so I will never sell it.

I have one for the J frame on my Model 37-2 factory bobbed. It is one of the first ones Chip made and it has been on my EDC ever since. It is carried every day and shot quite a bit and the adapter has held up exceptionally well! No movement, no damage by cleaning agents, and no discernible wear.

Ordering one for N-frame to replace my Tyler T-Grip

I just ordered a black N-frame adapter for my 1954 Highway Patrolman.

I can't bear to take the wooden grips off her, even though I have some nice stained maple Ahrends on order (3 months and counting?).

I had purchased a new production Tyler T-grip and really wanted to love it (it looked great), but it was not a solid fit, flexed a lot and I eventually broke it trying to get it to fit better. The little washer locking piece popped off, and the copper band came loose. My fault, I suppose, but I want something more robust and solid.

I love this old Highway Patrolman.

Since this is back up, I'll add a couple of thoughts.

The last three or four grip adapters I've purchased have been BK's simply because I could go to their website, order them, and pay for them in five minutes. I received all of them within three days of ordering.

I think in today's world a company has to offer online purchase/pay or they're going to lose sales. I'll bet I couldn't find an envelope or a stamp around here if I had to.

Got my grip adapter today!

My BK adapter came in today. I love it. It fits perfectly and is rock solid. On this gun there was an obvious difference with the two mounting strips vs the one on the Tyler. It doesn't flex at all when gripped or handled. If anything the duller black resin is a better fit with the old grayish finish on my 5-screw HP. The gloss aluminum finish of the Tyler was still attractive, but just further from a match.

I don't doubt that the pair of Ahrends grips I ordered might feel better, but I like the more "period" and "old school" look of the stock grips with the adapter. I think it stays this way, assuming I don't shoot it dramatically worse than my other revolvers.

I couldn't be more happy with the purchase and the service.

Regards,

my latest model 65-5 with BK grip adapter.

I've ordered about 10 of these, most of them for Smiths but of late (my apologies ;)) for the Colt D frames - Detective Special, a Cobra, Agent and Police Positive Specials of 1915 and 1970 manufacture. Excellent fit as always.

I ordered a set for a 3" 13-3 with imitation but really well done S&W antique grips.

Ordered them on a Sunday night, had them on the revolver by Thursday.

I'd say it came out well.
