Default 586 Configurations

How rare is a patridge sight on a 586 and how rare is a wide target hammer, and how rare is a 586 having both?
The vast vast majority of all 586's I've ever seen have neither.

While I don't have exact numbers, I doubt anyone has, my observations over the years is that there are significantly less 586s with Patridge sights than ramp sights. I doubt you will find any Patridge sights on 4" guns, unless the owner had the ramp changed. I have seen 6" guns with integral Patridge sights, and some with pinned Patridge. Same way with 686s, but by far the majority are red ramp sights.

I've seen a few 4-inch pre-lock M586's with a Patridge front sight, but never one with a box label or factory letter to support it was original. I'm sure there were a few made that way, maybe for export and in small numbers.

I've also seen a few 4-inch guns with semi-target hammers. S&W rarely put the hammer type on the box label during this era, so it's something hard to validate. They did more frequently put trigger type on boxes and quit a few had (semi) Target Triggers (TT). I have a 8 3/8-inch M586 that has both a Patridge sight and a (semi) TH, but that's a different animal.
