RB combat grip k-frame - proper frame fit?
Hi all ,
Just purchased an unfired 66-3 2.5" from the local gander Mtn, and have a question about the proper fit of combat grips from the factory. The ones installed on this piece have a certifiably lousy fit at the top rear, sitting approx 1/8" proud of the frame. I can only imagine how it would feel to fire 357s. I'm guessing they were after-factory add ons, but I wanted to confirm with the rest of the brain trust.
Thanks in advance,
Todd

Yep, those look like N frame grips. Good news is they aren't cheap and sell here for between $150-200. You could probably find someone interested in trading for a set of k frames. I may have an extra set, shoot me PM if interested.

Or if you would like to sell those, I might be a player.

I wonder how N frame stocks made their way on to a NIB K frame model 66?

That is far from being a "new in the box" gun. The hammer mounted firing pin and the absence of the dreaded lock date it from well before the MIM/IL debacle.

You'd be surprised, the irregular things people do to their guns before selling. Or maybe you wouldn't! My 'smith makes a lot of $ from me performing diagnoses on used guns.
