I really dislike the HKS speedloaders and that really my only choice in the 7 shot L frame. I like the 7 shot Lframe a lot and would get a 619 if I could get a push speed loader instead of a twist style. I like moonclips but I wouldnt want to carry a 7 shot moonclip in my pocket. I just bought a 642 pro moonclip and it's the first experience ive had with them the 5 shot clips seem sturdy enough for pocket carry but I think the 2 extra rounds would make them more flimsy.

Are there any options for a push style speedloader like the sarfailand but in 7 shot. Ive seen the SL ones but they are never in stock. Does anyone know if they actually make those in 7 shots.

I participated in a thread about this same subject a while back. I asked the same question as the OP but got no answers so I contacted Safariland. Talked to a very pleasant fellow in the research department, or maybe it was new product development. Anyway he said they had no plans to add a 7 shot speed loader at that time. When I tried to encourage him to do so he suggested I write Safariland a letter. I did but never heard anything back from them.

Seems kind of odd that with as many L-frame 7 shooters as Smith is turning out, Safariland wouldn't step up and offer a speed loader for them. I would think they would sell as well as the current offerings. Guess this is why no one every hired me to work in "new product development"!

My guess is that in 2013 the market for Comp III speedloaders is not nearly large enough to justify the R&D for a 7 shooter. Next is the spacing issues. Not sure how much of a problem getting 7 shots in that circle would be.

Another issue, most gun games that allow 7 and 8 shot revolvers have them in a Division where moon clips are allowed. This really finishes off the need for a 7 shot Comp III.

No doubt a Comp III or Jet Loader is a little faster to reload with than an HKS speed loader. We have a few revolver shooters still using HKS speed loaders in matches for other than "Load and Make Ready". The main issue with HKS speed loaders would be the lack of Kydex belt carrier. I work with kydex a little, and I have built our shooters belt carriers for their HKS speed loaders. Having them positioned vertical on the belt so that you grab them by the knob really speeds them up.

7 shot

The SL variant 7 shot loader works great on my 686. I ordered when they said they were out of stock and got them in about 10 days

Oh ok. So can you order them even if it says backordered on tge site? And thanks.
