You All Have Cost Me a Lot of $$$
After joining the S&W forum in March, primarily as a pistol owner, I learned a lot about revolvers and how much fun they are to own and shoot. In fact, many of you cautioned me about getting the wheel-gun fever. Well, since then I've purchased a Model 10-14 and a Model 60-16 pro. Even though I'm very happy with those guns, I decided I needed more. So, as my fever peaked to a new high , I rounded out my holdings with a new Governor and a Model 627-5 (see below). I hope this will carry me to the end of the year!

Check out some of the older S&W 's.
A 10-5, 29-2, 27-2 or 28-2 are all good places to start.
You'll enjoy the craftsmanship.

Oh blank. It's on now. U gots da fever. B T W there aint no cure. Welcome to the club. Great group. Great products. I would rather tie up my money in them than waste it on stuff I can't put in my hands and appreciate. Quality , craftsmanship, comroderi what's not to like. Good luck on your future acquisitions. Now you need to join the S&WCA & NRA if u are not a member already. Great group or people.

On the bright side, you can always sell them if you want your money back. In the meantime, enjoy them, and don't forget to introduce a few others to them.

Your story is nothing new here pal. Most of us suffer from the same affliction and love every minute of it. Just embrace it and enjoy.

Actually, Matt40, you're a bit behind. c'mon, man, keep up!
Nice collection of bits and bobs you picked up; I especially like the 627!
I signed on in Jan, since then... 360PD, 60-14LS (that was for Barbara, but she liked the 360PD so...), 31 flat latch, 34 flat latch, M&P 340, WWII Victory, post-war K22 Masterpiece, 617 no dash (oh, yeah, and the baby chief I traded for the 617), 640 Pro. I'm finished for the year, too, unless....
I no longer have the 60 or the 34.

Hey Matt40, I bought a new 627-5 a year ago. I never could hit very well with it so it sat, mostly forgotten till I took it out of its rug this week. I needed a rug for another gun. Mine had some roughness in the action and the grips didn't fit my hand well. I was actually about ready to sell it. Early this week I decided to pull the side plate to remove and clean the insides. I left the factory main spring, replaced the trigger return spring with a 13# and lightly polished the rebound slide. A light lube and some moly grease made the action so much smoother. Then I put factory Hogue rubber grips from a new 629 on. Took it to the range two days ago and couldn't believe the difference! Sort of like getting an expensive new gun for free. It's very accurate rested and the (for me) much better grips allow a solid high hold which makes it fun to shoot it double action off-hand. I'm usually not very good with N frames in off-hand shooting but this 627 is a revelation. Recoil and muzzle rise are minimal for a 357. Enjoy that gun!

When I joined up in 2002... I think I had 4 S&W's to my name. Now look... you're only just warming up the band... and these aren't even current pics, I have a "few more" that need to be added to bring them current.
You've fallen in with a bunch of unrepentant, reprobate enablers here... God help you

The S&W K22 I purchased for the grandson started it all. Then the N frame flu started. It's a never ending story.

N frame flu. I like that one. I have it to, plus its relative K frame fever. The L J and I frames have only given me a rash now and again.

It's hard to lose value when buying S&Ws if you are reasonably astute with your shopping. Of course you never really "pay too much" you just "buy too soon" as prices always seem to catch up with purchases eventually. My modest accumulation of just over a dozen pieces has appreciated over the 30+ years since I bought the first one to the point where I can no longer think of the purchase price of most of them as being particularly significant, and even the most recent buys are worth more than what I paid for them, so I can just ignore cost and enjoy them. Glad there's no wife I have to convince of this, though!

My wife is like " you bought another gun " .. I tell her, it's better then putting $ in the bank. It is a addiction, buying, selling, adding to the collection. It NEVER stops, atleast for me and my shooting buddies, always looking for the next one.
Have you started saving for your next one ? :-)

Your submission at the revolver altar will be complete once you look at your current guns as "swing out cylinder hand ejectors"

Yeah, this place took me from 1 to 7 J frames and 0 to 3 K frames. Plus holsters for some of 'em. Plus a second Dillon Square Deal B to feed the 38s. I tried to be satisfied with my 9mm Glocks, but once I got started . . .

Wait a minute, this is July, you should have at least "7" so far this year. Isn't the requirement for membership a 1 per month or more????

Yes, hanging out on this forum on a boring weekend can certainly wet the appetite. I tend to go in cycles where I'll buy like crazy then go dormant. Then when you finally decide that enough is enough, then you'll start sending one out to be enhanced/customized. I still recall when I said to myself that all I need is just one handgun, okay maybe also one rifle. I keep trying to convince myself that my purchases are for my son as heirlooms because maybe when he finally gets interested, the cost or availability may be out of reach.
Seems like every day there's another relic revolver posted on one of the various websites, just asking for a new home. Then I realize we're simply custodians of these firearms that eventually end up back on the market ready for a new owner.
