I have a wonderful 617 4" (no lock), and would like to be able to dry-fire like I do my centerfire revolvers, but am concerned about not having durable snap caps in .22. Any suggestions ?

Yup.

I actually don't use them for dry firing but a couple years ago I purchased a box of 100 #4-6 x7/8" ribbed plastic anchors from Home Depot. Seems like it was around $5 Crown Bolt brand, yellow part #54772.

I had tried a couple other variations of dry wall anchors that did not fit but this size will. Never have bought any snap caps but I don't dry fire my .22 revolvers regardless.

Looks like the current sizing is 4-6-8x7/8" like revolver ph wrote.

And Autonomous got in before me...clearly a picture is worth a thousand words! :)

Plastic wall anchors work great in my 617. They don't wear out and for the cost 100 will last me a long time.
