I’m out of the magnum business. A while ago, I reviewed my holdings in terms of when I’d last used each gun. Turns out I hadn’t used my various Smith magnums for many years, so I lightened my load.
Model 17: The famous K-22
Model 10: The Corner stone of S&W and the original Military & Police concept
Model 15,67: The Combat Masterpiece
Model 19/66: The Combat Magnum
Model 27/28: The N frame 357
I know the task was to name just five, but if a number six is allowed:
Model 29: The Harold Francis Callahan "Dirty Harry" gun!
My top five all-around S&W revolvers of all time:
1. X frame .460 S&W, barrel length longer than the latter.
2. X frame .500 S&W, barrel length shorter than the former.
Anything else is just a lite, for sake of convenience.
