Top 5 "all around" Smith Revolvers of All Time?

If I was to pick the top five it would go like this
Model 10-6
Model 13
Model 58
Model 547
And last but not least the 29 4”
All these shoot and handle like no other handguns. IMO

Model 17: The famous K-22
Model 10: The Corner stone of S&W and the original Military & Police concept
Model 15,67: The Combat Masterpiece
Model 19/66: The Combat Magnum
Model 27/28: The N frame 357

I know the task was to name just five, but if a number six is allowed:

Model 29: The Harold Francis Callahan "Dirty Harry" gun!

I second this list!

So for me "down under", Target Shooting is the majority of my needs since I'm retired from Policing. My pick would be:-

627 PC with 5" barrel
686 with 4" barrel
14 with 6" barrel and full underlug
66 with 4" barrel
27 with 6 1/2" barrel

For historical reasons I'd pick all three Magnums. Plus a Victory and a 1917.

The Magnums were something they were instrumental in developing and ushered in the era of high performance handguns.

Plus their two military models.

Guns I already own that make the list:
4” Model 24-3 .44 Special
3” Model 13-3 .357
4” Model 19-4 nickel P&R .357
4” Model 18-3 .22
4” Model 29-2 .44 Mag. tuned action.
I don’t consider the 24 and 29 redundant because of the weight differences between them.

Of the ones I have experience with. 10, 19, 49, 17, 36. I'm sure 686/586 would be on my list, but I have never fired one. Would love to get one eventually.

3 1/2" Registered Magnum
Pre 16 4" 32 Long
Model 29 5"
Model 58
Model 586 4"

Honorable mention to the 13 3", K-22, 57, 25-5, and Model 24 4".

Model 686+ PC 5"
Model 19-4 4"
Model 10-8 HB 4"
Model 19 Classic
Model 586/686+ 3"

Going with my favorites.

Model 10 4" HB.
Model 13 3".
Model 15.
Model 17.
Model 19 4".

That are all ones we have here and cover practically all of shooting needs. I do admit though that my all time favorite S&W here is the Model 25-5 here as it is in my favorite centerfire caliber.

Five, would be hard for me but I can give you my top three:
(In no particular order)
60/36 chiefs special
10/64 NYCPD
29 Harry special

Then too many more great ones to narrow down to 5.
