Why thank you. Hopefully I can do them justice when I checker them, try to recreate the symbol as best I can that small and shade them. I also have to tweak a few little things about them.
I'm pretty sure some 649's didn't have it. They started making them in, oh shoot, now I forget. I think it as 1995. I just was reading up on them yesterday. And I'm drawing this right from a picture. I wasn't for sure if it was a nickel 49 or a 649. But I THINK it's an early 649.
Very nice. That's the confusing thing about the one I'm drawing from. The trigger is not case hardened. I started a thread asking about it before I named it, but nobody could tell me what it was exactly so I went with 649. It just doesn't look like nickel to me, but I could be wrong.
Here's some photos of my 649-2 that I purchased brand new on May 25, 1996. No lock, and case hardened hammer and trigger. Oh, it also came with Uncle Mikes Boot Grips.
Yes, freehand. All I use is my pencil. And I use the remote for the soundbar for my TV for a straight edge. I bet you have a lot of other talents though. Everyone's got something.... Maybe some more than others...... It has been fun doing this but I know I'm not nearly as good as some people.
In my old age I end up bleeding every time I work on something (worsening eye sight, clumbsiness, thin skin) sure can mess up a good piece of wood, I can't even solder well anymore. Now I collect S&W blued revolvers. I read almost every post on here, learning so much. Am very envious of the comradary here within the "Old Guard".
Thanks for the compliment Texas Star! And I'm glad you think it's a 649 too. I keep going back and forth but I can't tell.... LOL. I may just stick with 649.
