Here are some examples of grips that can be used on a round butt S&W N Frame such as this S&W PC 327. In order as follows:

S&W Factory Stocks for current production PC 327.
S&W Factory Rubber Grips New Style (found on new 610 etc).
Lyman Products Pachmayr Diamond Pro.
Craig Spegel Brazilian Rosewood Boot Grips 1991.
Badger Dymalux Black Boot Grips.

The Factory Stocks are attractive but useless. The new S&W factory rubber grips aren't bad for conceal carry, especially if you have an inch or two of love handles to hide the butt of the grips. They have a medium palm swell and my average size hands can reach the trigger of the S&W PC 327 without any problems, in fact all of these grips afford an easy and comfortable purchase of the trigger. The Pachmayr Diamond Pro's have more palm swell than the S&W new style rubber grips as well as the Hogue's that we're all used too. Of all the available rubber grips this is easily my choice for concealed carry. All of these rubber grips conceal adequately and I haven't had any issues with printing or my shirts grabbing onto the grips. That said, I didn't include the Pachmayr Compact grips as they do print and they increase the reach of my index finger to the trigger. If I could get a pair of Byron's rubber boot grips that's what I would prefer as far as rubber grips for concealed carry is concerned. I'm searching for a pair of the Byron's rubber boot grips for this PC 327 and hopefully I'll find a pair in the near future. Or someone will come forward with a pair.

The Craig Spegel Brazilian Rosewood Boot Grips are an excellent design and feel just right, especially the relieved area to rest my thumb and help with loading full moon clips into the cylinder. The grips are also flush with the bottom of the grip frame which helps with concealment It's just perfect and these grips have continued to serve me well since 1991. Finally, the Badger boot grip style wooden grips are similar to the Spegel boot grips but don't have the excellent relieved area on the left grip panel to rest your thumb and assist with loading your full moon clips into the cylinder. There is some slight relief but not as much as Craig's. The Badger's do have a nice palm filling swell and I like the color of these grips in particular as they compliment the S&W PC 327 handsomely. The Badgers just don't feel as nice as the Spegel's. They also extend slightly past the bottom of the grip frame but it's not an issue for me. They certainly don't extend as far past the bottom of the grip frame as much as any of the aforementioned rubber grips, except the Byron's grips which, like the Spegel Boot Grips are flush with the bottom of the grip frame. Since the S&W PC 327 is my current EDC, the Badger grips are what I'm using for this revolver. The PC 327 is a real back and hip saver as it weighs only 21oz's. That's less than my GLOCK GEN4 G29. So it's the S&W PC 327 with the Badger grips for my EDC. May as well look stylish if SHTF...lol.

Nice post. I also use the badger grips also but in brown.

Thank you for the reply and compliment. Can you share a picture of your grips please? I've also thought of getting another set of Badgers in Brown next time around. I really prefer Craig Spegel's Boot Grips but he currently has an approximately 2-year waiting list. Back in 1991 it was only about a 4 week's wait.

I can snap a pick when I get home. The grips came with the gun along with the originals. I am currently looking at other options though. My main priority is finding a new front sight.

I have a set of Spegels for my 686 in Bolivian Rosewood. They're round to square conversions, full size with finger grooves. On the 6" 686 the full size grip gives me better control and balance with the heavy barrel.

I think of all the grips I own, Spegels are the best.

The two year wait gives me time to hunt up some more Smiths!

MORE PICS OF ROUND BUTT N FRAME'S WITH GRIPS

Here's a few more pic's of some other S&W N Frame's with the factory supplied Pachmayr Grips on S&W 310 & 327 NightGuard's, in 10MM & .357 Magnum respectively. The 327 NG was sent to TK Custom where Tom machined the cylinder to accept 8-shot full moon clips. Something that S&W should have done in the first place. The 310 NG came from the factory with it's cylinder already machined for use with full moon clips.

Once again, the Craig Spegel Boot Grips and the Badger grips are better choices for these type of EDC examples. Of course if I was out sniffing around in the wilderness I would use rubber grips, but not these Pachmayr's. Instead I would more than likely use their Diamond Pro's or the new style S&W Factory rubber grips.

HERE'S SOME MORE ROUND BUTT N FRAMES WITH AFTERMARKET GRIPS

Here's my S&W 610 no-dash pre-lock with a 5 1/2" barrel that was Mag-na-ported by the Factory before it was shipped to the FFL back in 1991. From 1990 and my EDC for almost 30 years, is a S&W 625-3 with the factory supplied Pachmayr Grippers. They were quickly replaced (but saved) with the same Craig Spegel Brazilian Rosewood Boot Grips that was shared in my prior post on this thread.

Next is my S&W 625-7 .45 COLT from 1991 and was Distributed by Lew Horton. The original factory stocks and some rubber Hogues are shown. That's another specimen from 1991 above the 625-7, however it's not a round butt N Frame. Instead it's a square butt N Frame model 25-9 .45 COLT 4" barrel with the original factory stocks, and a breathtaking original blued factory finish.

Finally I couldn't resist the temptation to share one last round butt S&W. It's not an N Frame, it's an X Frame S&W 460XVR w/2.75" barrel and the factory Hogues. This ultimate Snubnose digest .45 COLT, .454 Casull, and of course the awesome .460 S&W Magnum. I've seen nice wood grips for these that look similar to boot grips and are very attractive, but if I'm setting off the .460 Mag's I'm using the rubber Hoque grips. It's an awesome handgun, especially with only a 2.75" barrel. Thank heaven's that S&W has supplied us with such delicious revolvers throughout history and to present time. Revolvers Rule!

I have two N frames with round butts. Both wear stag magnas with grip adapters.

My favorite N-frame round butt stocks have always been Ahrends. The small shop has now gone out of business. The stocks were always easy to find and select from on eBay; I don't know if any are still available. They were always well made, fit well and felt comfortable to handle. They were also reasonably priced.

I suppose they are now collector items and will escalate in pricing accordingly.

When I find I don't like the fit if a pair of stocks, I try and modify some to fit my hand better. I don't like the RB combat grips at all. When I got my 24-3 I got a pair of RB to SB conversion grips, finger groove, and cut down and sanded the finger grooves mostly out. Working slowly you can stop when you get the fit you want. The grips were mass market impregnated rosewood, and worked well.
