Here are some examples of grips that can be used on a round butt S&W N Frame such as this S&W PC 327. In order as follows:
S&W Factory Stocks for current production PC 327.
S&W Factory Rubber Grips New Style (found on new 610 etc).
Lyman Products Pachmayr Diamond Pro.
Craig Spegel Brazilian Rosewood Boot Grips 1991.
Badger Dymalux Black Boot Grips.
The Factory Stocks are attractive but useless. The new S&W factory rubber grips aren't bad for conceal carry, especially if you have an inch or two of love handles to hide the butt of the grips. They have a medium palm swell and my average size hands can reach the trigger of the S&W PC 327 without any problems, in fact all of these grips afford an easy and comfortable purchase of the trigger. The Pachmayr Diamond Pro's have more palm swell than the S&W new style rubber grips as well as the Hogue's that we're all used too. Of all the available rubber grips this is easily my choice for concealed carry. All of these rubber grips conceal adequately and I haven't had any issues with printing or my shirts grabbing onto the grips. That said, I didn't include the Pachmayr Compact grips as they do print and they increase the reach of my index finger to the trigger. If I could get a pair of Byron's rubber boot grips that's what I would prefer as far as rubber grips for concealed carry is concerned. I'm searching for a pair of the Byron's rubber boot grips for this PC 327 and hopefully I'll find a pair in the near future. Or someone will come forward with a pair.
The Craig Spegel Brazilian Rosewood Boot Grips are an excellent design and feel just right, especially the relieved area to rest my thumb and help with loading full moon clips into the cylinder. The grips are also flush with the bottom of the grip frame which helps with concealment It's just perfect and these grips have continued to serve me well since 1991. Finally, the Badger boot grip style wooden grips are similar to the Spegel boot grips but don't have the excellent relieved area on the left grip panel to rest your thumb and assist with loading your full moon clips into the cylinder. There is some slight relief but not as much as Craig's. The Badger's do have a nice palm filling swell and I like the color of these grips in particular as they compliment the S&W PC 327 handsomely. The Badgers just don't feel as nice as the Spegel's. They also extend slightly past the bottom of the grip frame but it's not an issue for me. They certainly don't extend as far past the bottom of the grip frame as much as any of the aforementioned rubber grips, except the Byron's grips which, like the Spegel Boot Grips are flush with the bottom of the grip frame. Since the S&W PC 327 is my current EDC, the Badger grips are what I'm using for this revolver. The PC 327 is a real back and hip saver as it weighs only 21oz's. That's less than my GLOCK GEN4 G29. So it's the S&W PC 327 with the Badger grips for my EDC. May as well look stylish if SHTF...lol.
