Carried My S&W 327 2 Inch Today
So I finally decided to add my 327 to my carry rotation today using my new Speed Beez OWB leather holster and was surprised to see how easy it was to carry. Hardly knew it was there with little, if any , printing. I've owned a number of revolvers over the years but none quite like the 327. It's quickly becoming my all time favorite.

Amazing gun and nice looking holster.
Wish the trigger guard was completely covered though
I am looking forward to the day when I own a PC327.

Nice! Welcome to the club. The 327pc and 340pd are my 2 favorite carry revolvers.

It's a DA revolver. The whole "gotta have the trigger guard covered" is a relatively recent (Glock, etc) thing.

Very nice rig. Not at all worried about the trigger guard thing! What are you carrying in it?

Gorgeous gun and great photos! I like the holster you chose as well. May I ask if you shoot full power 357’s in your 327 and if so have you ever had any issues with the IL partially or fully engaging?

I carry my regularly. Either on my hip or in my backpack. I have at least 1000 rounds of .357mag even more .38 special throught it. No issues so far. I do have one cylinder with a tiny bit of erosion on the cylinder but nothing worrisome .

I am thinking of a 627 because 327 light weight kinda doesn't seem fun to shoot
what has been your experience shooting it? I know carrying it would be nicer. The 327pc is what drew me in to this realm in the first place.

Thank you for the feedback. I had a 327 a very long time ago and it did have issues with the IL engaging under 357 recoil. I ended up returning it to the gunshop I bought it from but I wish I would’ve sent it back to S&W instead. I know now this was a rare problem and am certain they would have fixed it. Ive never had an IL issue with any of my other Smiths including a SS 627PC and a TRR8. I see a new one in my near future.

You should really try one out if possible. I think you would be pleasantly surprised how the 327 handles recoil. IMO it’s not bad at all. Especially with a pair of rubber grips.

So far the only ammo I have shot is Fiocchi 38 Special 130 grain and the recoil has been fine. I've tried to get Federal 38 special micro hat but it's impossible to find anywhere.

Nice gun. I like short barrels, but
not especially on a .357. I have a 2.5" Model 19 and to me a short barreled .357 is not much more than a hotly loaded .38 Special, and you have to deal with a lot more muzzle flash, noise and recoil.

That's a very nice set up mate, well done.
Let us know what the holster is (I may have missed that) and how you get on with it after carrying for a while?
Cheerio,

I ordered the holster from Speed Beez. It has their logo on it but I believe its made by DeSantis Holsters. Its a well made holster and very comfortable to wear. The 327 fits perfectly. Some forum members were bothered by the fact that the trigger guard is not completely covered but that not an issue for me. The trigger itself is covered and that's all that matters to me.

Another day carrying my 327 in my Speed Beez OWB holster and I like it more each time. So glad I used my stimulus money to buy this outstanding Smith and Wesson revolver. Feel like I did my part to stimulate the economy.

Very nice carry rig. Does the holster "clip" on the belt or
does the belt pass "thru" the holster? I've always preferred
"pass thru" holsters myself.

Yes the belt does pass though the holster. I definitely prefer that over the clip on ones.

327 Dressed up in Kydex
Hello Everyone,
My first attempt at a post, I hope it turns out alright.
Out of my many firearms, Wilson Combat, Ed Browns, Nighthawks and Glocks I must say, my S&W 327PC is the most comfortable to carry of all. It disappears under my T-shirts. I'm 6'-0" x 200lbs.
My favorite GoTo firearms. Clay Martin of Guns America said something to the effect, "I would have a hard time if I had to wake up tomorrow and only have one pistol for the rest of my life and not choosing this little guy." He was holding and demonstrating the S&W 327PC ! I added a link to his review and a pic of my 327 sitting pretty in Kydex.

I carry my 327pc with my 340pd as a backup pretty often. They also make great backpacking guns. Glad to see someone else enjoying them.

327 magnum
I shoot the .327 for long range accuracy it's my favorite. Have revolvers in all the different calibers and wildcats, I find the .327 is the best performer

I purchased a used 327 PC 2" a couple of months ago.
Did not like the wood grips and the bare back strap so changed them to rubber Pachmayr.
The little lady shoots fantastically. I have shot 38, 38+P and 357 Magnum of all varieties from it without a problem with recoil.
I pocket carry it and IWB carry it.
I did send it back to S&W because the "shroud" around the barrel was coming loose and the gun was light striking after AI shot it about 125 rounds.
Do not know how many times the previous owner had shot it, but it did not have a blemish on it. I did take a chance on an expensive used gun, but I think it will work out well.
Should get it back in the next week.
OP, I think you have a fine weapon. Congrats.

Thanks. I recently changed out the stock grips to Hogue Bantam Cocobolo grips. These grips feel much better in my hands and make my 327 more concealable. Absolutely love this little revolver. Here's the before and after pictures.

No it does not fully cover the back strap. Thank you for your service as well. 63-69 for me. I like the bantam grip a lot more than the stock grip which also did not fully cover the back strap.

You are going to love it. Highly recommend the Hogue Bantam for it if you intend to carry it.

I’ve got one of these guns too. It’s one of my favorite guns to shoot after I got it figured out. My 327 shot approximately 5” low and 3-4” left. I thought that it might be me...but I shoot other fixed sight, short barrel revolvers and I’m fairly accurate with those...So I bought crimson trace grips and now...wherever that laser points is what gets hit. But the fact the sights were that far off bugged me, so I sanded down and moved the front sight. Now at 10 yards...it’s damn near dead on...still slightly left (.5”) but nothing I can’t live with.
I was reading an article today about someone who had a similar problem but with a different revolver, his issue was a damaged crown. That hadn’t occurred to me....so I checked out my crown. Attached is the picture of my crown. Does anyone else have a 327 with a crown that looks like this? Thank you, and sorry if I hijacked this thread.

This is what my crown looks like. Hope this helps. BTW my front sight was slightly drifted to the right when it came from the factory. I had my gunsmith center and my 327 is dead on.
