His work is exceptional.
I have a set on a Colt D frame, and they are well suited to CCW while being large enough to shoot with.
Jim Badger does one thing nobody else does:
He answers the phone himself.
Give him a call, tell him what you want, and he will make it for you. Best customer service in the grip industry

Does anyone have first-hand experience with Badger J frame round butt grips, boot grips and/or combat grips for pocket carry?

I have Badger grips for many of my revolvers.

I like their J-Frame Round Boot Grips the best for my 360.

They extend over the bottom of the grip frame just a tad which I like better than others which have more length, as well as a bit more girth.

My only complaint with them is that they're very smooth & slick, though pretty.

As a SD carry revolver, when your hands are dry, &/or cold, it's not very confidence inspiring especially considering it's recoil.

Well, I emailed him & told him how much I've liked his grips (I've been buying them even before he was the owner) & asked him if he makes, or can make, a set of the Round Boot Grips for my J-frame that have a rougher surface, for a more confident feel.

He said No, but he's sure someone else can.

Came across as a little snarky to me but I don't know if he meant it that way. :(

Here they are on a 1993 Performance Center ET Comp Chiefs Special Model 60-7.

I like 'em, but I wouldn't consider them for pocket carry.

Altamonts for size, fit and solid grip

The Altamont's on my Model 637-2 were optional dealer install brand new in 2002. This gun as you see it has been EDC for pushing 2 decades now.

The Altamont's have a perfect checkered grip with just the right amount of palm swell for my average size hand. Have not had any problems with the round butt wood snagging clothing, even sports jacket. I carry OWB in S&W leather. No issues printing either.

My opinion is they are miles ahead of standard service J frame Magna's, and I prefer wood to rubber so I've liked them since new. Firm grip, quick non snag presentation, manage recoil without trouble (carry ammo is Speer Gold Dot + P).
