.........,yes they did sell revolvers once upon a time. In the late 90s early 2000s Wilson offered S&W model 66s with a 2& 1/2 " barrel with custom carry work done on them. I acquired a 3 inch 66 that was supposed to have come through their shop but no markings and unable to confirm it so it entered catch and release.

Recently I was fortunate enough to pick up a revolver that was marked Wilson Combat on the side plate. It is not a model 66, it is a 3 inch model 64-6. It has many of the similarities of the work on the 66s.
Including an incredible action, chamfered & beveled cylinder, stippled backstrap, smoothed and radiused trigger,
dehorning or carry melt and was wearing the hideout grips.

Still wanted to know more about the gun and just happened to be in Berryville the other day so I stopped by and was fortunate to speak with Mr.Vic Tibbets , the master smith behind the revolver work at Wilson. A very nice gentleman who took the time visit with for a brief spell. He confirmed this was one of the Smiths that they did and even better he said the work on this one was done by him.
Oh forgot, they removed the hammer spur on this one also.

Very glad I stopped by.

Great Folks there and also at the competition just up the road at Nighthawk. If your ever in the vicinity stop by these two locations and a couple of other gun attractions in the town, Saunders Gun Museum and Caywood Arms.

Here is a link to an earlier thread on Wilson round guns.

There was a time, a long time ago, when I decided everyone should have a custom gun. So enlightened, I bought a C--T Government Model, covered it with money, and shipped it off to Arkansas------told 'em to do me a Master Grade. Six months to the day they said it'd be done, it was done.

I didn't recognize anything except the serial number. It was, and remains merely superb----and shoots bullets clearly guided by radar.

I’ve got a 3” Model 64 that could benefit from their touch. Hmmmmm…

They ceased doing custom work on revolvers by the mid 2000s if I remember right. Supposedly there has been some talk of reentering the market.
If there are folks interested contact with the company might show the level of interest.

Well, "lawandorder" is from Arkansas; so he might very well have forgotten more than I know about Wilson; but I'm inclined to liken them to Turnbull. There was a time, quite some time ago, when Turnbull would do pretty much whatever a customer would pay them to do. Time passed, and things changed. I can't sit here and make a list of what changed from what to what, but let's just say they came to the realization they were running a business, and kowtowing to their then current customer's needs was all well and good-------but there were other opportunities staring them in the face which might just translate to a whole bunch more customers---different customers to be sure, but plenty of them.

It is the way of such things-----first you crawl, then you walk; and then you RUN!!
