Just saw this S&W 586 nickel for sale locally, didn’t even know it existed in nickel. Price is 1350 $. A bit pricey for Switzerland but I’m tempted. Thoughts ?

sooo nice. The right price. You are teasing is and I am convinced you already bought it.

Nice 586! I have a nickel 6” 586-1, they are a beautiful revolver and mine is one of the best shooting S&W’s that I have ever shot

The front sight on that revolver presents a very “awkward” sight picture (due to the shallow angle of the blade) that was hard for me to use. I never liked it. I traded a Patridge-blade early 6” 586 to get the red ramp version and always regretted it. The revolver itself is a great one, if you don’t mind the sights. Every 6” 586 I’ve ever fired was very accurate and pleasant to shoot, compared to the Model 19s.

Thanks everybody for your feedback

I had not, I was looking for validation from the enablers on the forum. But I have now for $ 1240

It’s just so pretty and shiny I couldn’t resist. Seller says it was made in 1981. Not sure I’ll shoot it much. I already have a blued one I’ve shot extensively.

S&W 586 nickel

Forgot to mention I am abroad on a well deserved beach holiday

I didn’t stop checking the classified, just in case something rare and/or exciting passes by. I was secretly hoping that it wouldn’t be the case, but this enthusiastic accumulator knows no rest.

I won’t have it in hand for a couple weeks but I’m quite excited about it

I have had a number of nickel Smiths and my 6 inch 586 was one of the prettiest. I never shot it much and the owner of the LGS bought it from me. He thinks it is very nice also.

Where was the beach photo taken?

Three powder rings on the cylinder? Sounds like it may have only been test fired at the factory, especially having the original box, papers, cleaning kit and SAT. That's one that I believe I would keep exactly as found. What's rarer than a nickeled 586? A LNIB nickeled 586.
