Where the heck do I find an N frame grip pin thingymajig

Bought a 629 that was wearing pachs. Pulled them off to put on proper wood stocks and the pin at the bottom of the frame that aligns and supports the stocks is missing.
Dash 2 if that matters ..
 
You are right Laketime...

I've snipped a piece of coat hanger in the past on used guns that was missing the pin due to using older original Hogue grips. It is the prefect size.


Yes sir a wire coat hanger is the perfect diameter for this use...just cut to length...it fits perfectly...
 
Just might need a “cupped” end punch to install a factory grip pin, hitting a round ended pin with a flat punch can get a little squirrely.

it would be good to have a lathe for many things !
 
I replaced one with a 1/8" roll pin trimmed to length. I bought it at ACE hardware (they are inventoried as tension pins). Knowing me I bought three, two to screw up and one to use. About 25 cents each.
