I'm posting quite a few questions after a 460 PC purchase Thursday. Thanks for your patience.
Have had good luck with S&W PC revolvers over the years including a 627 8 Shot; 629 with 7.5" barrel for hunting in Alabama; an R8; and a non-PC 586L I kept in my patrol car back in the day.
I have lived in Alaska now for a few years, and Thursday I stepped up to a Perf. Ctr. .460 XVR w/chest rig primarily for Bear defense. Now I'm thinking about a compensated .460 XVR for hunting with a 5" compensated barrel. There's one at Arctic Ammo here in Wasilla, it is non-Perf. Ctr., and what am I losing with a non-performance center gun if anything? The action is just about as nice as the PC, maybe not quite as smooth but lighter. Will it give the same precision and long-life of the Performance Center version?
I hadn't planned on buying number two until next year except ironically now there's a chance the other one is going to S&W to get warranty work.
Thanks in advance!
