Have a 629 6”. I need a way to lug the thing around. Don’t think I want a belt holster. What are you guys using or suggest.

Where are you planning to "lug the thing around"?
A shoulder holster or chest holster is about all I can think of if you want it quickly accessible.
Probably too big for a fanny pack and sure not going to work in an ankle holster. LOL

Buster, you may try looking on Barranti's website. They have some nice-looking and customizable leather. I ordered one for a 4" N frame (belt and holster). It's not finished yet. They probably can make what you want.
Now, this may seem blasphemous, okay it IS, but my 629 6" fits perfect in my 6" GP100 holster to keep it from getting bumped around if I don't feel like bringing the whole case. But I DON'T wear it!

I have both a belt holster (high ride, with thumb break) and a shoulder holster for my 6-inch 629. I rarely used the shoulder holster. If I was to take the gun hunting nowadays, I would probably look into buying a good chest holster for it. I’ve never used one, so I’d want to do a little research first, but from what I read, they work nicely - and they have some theoretical advantages in bear country. :D

I’ve personally settled on a nylon Bianchi belt holster my 629-4 Classic DX (I’m not normally a nylon fan but I have to admit the quality of that Bianchi is exemplary to me. Sure ain’t as pretty as leather but more practical out in the field.)

The other is a size XL Bianchi X-15 shoulder rig.
Great in jacket weather. Pulls it right into you, I like others where you feel like a brick’s hanging off your side. The bonus is that my 6” 586, 6” 66, even full-size 1911’s all fit in that holster securely.

Just my $.02.
