Hello,

I have a new to me S&W 1000 auto 12ga (also classified as a Mossberg 1000) that is mechanically sound but the wood is in awful shape making a beautiful gun look like it was dragged behind a horse for far too long.

I thought I'd replace the wood, stalk, and fore-grip with synthetic components. Problem is, this gun is old enough and had a low enough production run to have limited aftermarket options.

Is there another, more modern, shotgun or has more aftermarket options that is compatible with interchangeable parts that I could use on my gun?

Or

Can someone direct me to a website or company that has synthetic options for my shotgun?

Thanks,
Dan

The Model 1000 was slightly early for the synthetic stock days.
As far as I know, neither S&W or Mossberg ever made a synthetic stock for it.

Possibly Choate did, so I'd email them and ask.

Last NO GUARANTEES, but it's possible a stock made for a Remington 1100 might fit or could be altered to fit.
The 1000 was NOT a close copy of the Remington 1100 as some people think, but it's possible the stocks are close enough.
This is something that Choate might well know.
