Usually lacking a die & tap to clean up the threads on a bbl and/or receiver where they the fit was a bit too tight,,in the past I've lapped the threads in.
It's a slow process, compared to running and tap into the frame and die over the bbl threads,,but it can produce a nice fit all the same.
I've used nothing but plain 'fine' grade valve grinding compound to accomplish it.
Protect the finish on the parts by wrapping them up with tape or something similar. As hard as you try to avoid it, the abrasive compound will find it's way onto the surfaces just though the constant handling of the parts.
When the bbl winds in with the lapping compound on the threads to about 1/4 turn shy of coming up to square,,stop there and wash all the compound off the threads of the bbl and the frame.
Make sure it's all out of there in the frame. Use a toothbrush and solvent inside there. The bbl threads are easier to see and clean of the stuff.
That extra 1/4 turn on threads cleared of the abrasive compound will give enough draw up for a snug fit.
A dab of grease on the threads before final install lets them run in together smoothly and avoids any seizing.
