Wanted to try an upside down shoulder holster for my 649 Bodyguard and found a deal on one. Got a like new one from an estate sale for $25.00. It comes with an extra holster marked for "S&W 357". I'm hoping that one will fit my 2 inch model 12.

I bought a new nickle square butt 2inch back in the mid 80's. It's a great gun.

Interesting thread. I have to agree nothing feels as good to me as my Hi-Powers. Having said that I love third gen Smiths and enjoy my 5906 immensely. Up to this point I can honestly say I shoot Hi-Powers better than anything else I have shot. I do pretty well with the 5906, CZ75, P99AS, P226...

I love it. Have had it since new. I have Eagle Secret Service grips (the smooth ones) and it rides in a Kramer pocket holster. The Bodyguard series are my favorite J-frames. I like the single action option if you want it. Alot of people are spooked by the looks but I like the art-deco kind of look.

I think your on to something. I have a 649-2 and if I remember correctly in the manual there was an asterik in the 38+P column for a few of the stainless J's but not the carbon steel ones.
