I just got a model 53 including the matching box and inserts. My questions are, why the barrel and box are stamped, "22 magnum", how long were these guns produced, did they come in different barrel lengths and is there still ammo for it?

no box, sorry no pictures yet. It has the type of grip that the medallions are at the top of the grip and is rounded on top.

I just bought a 5 screw, 38, 5" barrel, fixed sights, with a lanyard. The grips are of the style I have seen posted here on some hand ejectors 2nd and 3rd model. It is in 90% condition or better. The s/n lacks a letter prefix and is 8584xx. I paid $500. Any idea as to model, dob or value?

Oops, it is a 4 screw if it matters.

I am trying to date what appears to be a pre-model 15. It is a 5 screw, 4", K frame, .38 with a s/n of K288481. Thanks in advance.

It has an exposed hammer, the rear of the trigger guard is squared.

I'm trying to find out when this gun was made/shipped. It is a top break, .38S&W, DA, 5 shot, auto eject, s/n 600xx. Due to poor condition I can't make out the last patent date. Any help would be appreciated.
