I'm trying to find out when this gun was made/shipped. It is a top break, .38S&W, DA, 5 shot, auto eject, s/n 600xx. Due to poor condition I can't make out the last patent date. Any help would be appreciated.

It has an exposed hammer, the rear of the trigger guard is squared.

With than SN, it would be a S&W .38 DA, second model, ca. early 1880s
