How do you guys answer this?

In the Navy all hands know that a gun fires a projectile 1" or larger. So no, I do not have any guns at the house, sadly.

Full sized M&P 9 for carry

+1 on a 1 1/2" belt designed for holsters. They are stiffer and carry much better. I can successfully carry IWB at 4 o'clock a M&P 40 Pro 5" (same size as a full size 1911) in a King Tuk, although usually it's a smaller Kahr CW40. If you carry IWB, recommend the holster having a leather flap...

Cleaning prior to first range trip?

Can't answer why S&W would use apparently excess grease, but it's wise IMHO to field strip, clean and lube all "new to you" firearms. I don't trust others including the factory's shipping lube to do it correctly (my way :)). Also, use an aerosol spray cleaner to flush out the hard to get to...

    M&P 40c Range Report

Yes, and my question was why would you want to leave the slide open with the fresh magazine? All you have at this point is a rock.

    M&P 40c Range Report

If Tula is the only ammo that causes problems, suggest not using it, even though it's cheap. The slide's auto release when firmly inserting a magazine is no cause for alarm. Just be aware of it. I'm having trouble thinking of a reason for having a loaded magazine inserted but the slide open.

    M&P CORE 40L problem

My 40 Pro slide "auto releases" also when the magazine is seated firmly. I think of it as a feature, not a bug.

    Uplula Loader With Shield Magazines

+1 UpLula works great for my Shield 9, M&P 40, Kahr CW40 and HiPoint 40 carbine magazines.

    Suggestions for a Cheap Loader

No problem here with loading all 15 in a M&P 40 with an UpLula (greatest thing since sliced bread). Didn't trim or clip anything. Also works great for mags from a Shield 9, Kahr 40 and a HiPoint .40 carbine (single stack).

How do you use safety on shield

What's a safety? Seriously, IMHO the real safety is between one's ears. Use it to keep the trigger finger on the frame until the target is acquired and the background is safe. Use a proper holster that completely covers the trigger guard area. Those who cannot draw/holster their pistol without...

    Conceled carry advice

+1 Do these. Safeties in modern pistols are crutches for those who don't have their mind focused properly and probably shouldn't be carrying without more training.

    New 9 Pro Series 5"

Great buy on a great pistol. I have the .40 version and it's my favorite shooter.

Please a new guy:Full size or Mid size

For home protection and open carry, I have a stock 40 Pro with the 5" barrel and find it my favorite pistol to shoot. It's the same overall size as a 1911 but with a larger magazine capacity (15 +1) and is a tack driver.

Alternative to Sticky Grips for Shield

If you're wanting an add on grip for function and not cosmetics, I'm quite happy with the bicycle inner tube (1.75") method. One inner tube from Walmart or where ever will do a dozen pistols for less than $5. You can trim the rubber to fit around a Crimson Trace.

    A thread for flawless Shields

Early on my wife has a couple of limp wrist caused failure to feeds, but her Shield 9 has 400 rounds now with no other issues. She corrected her grip.

    New M&P 40

I'm assuming your right handed. Unless the sights are visually off center, search this forum for "low left". Shoot it with your weak hand to see if it still shoots low/left. 99% of low/left is related to operating the trigger.
